My problem with rechargeable batteries is that they are never charged up when I need them. Sure, I could have a few always in the charger but that's not good for their life, right? So when we want to play Wii once every few months if I have a rechargeable battery in there it's probably dead and there isn't a spare to be had so we grab fresh single use ones and move on.

I have rechargeable batteries in my mouse and one of my Xbox controllers, and that works well for me so I'm not sure what my hold up in the Wii example is. Or maybe I find devices that aren't frequently used that use rechargeable batteries isn't a good fit for me.

We bought the Kirkland batteries back in 2009, and finished the pack last year. However we've also managed to transition mostly to rechargables, so your mileage may vary.

This was more of a "I wonder if I could fix it" instead of a "I need to fix this so I can play my games". You may not have received much on the trade in at EB Games but you did get some money off the purchase and now you don't have to worry about what to do with a second box now either.

...and you have a Pi too? Whatever I'm going to do with my Xbox 360 now your Pi will be able to do the same, and at a fraction of the cost.

Kinda Jelly that you were able to fix it. But equal parts indifferent, because I enjoyed my solution as well.

Truth. You can't do anything right by some reviews and unless you have a room designed for the speakers you're wasting your time, money and live. I get that audio is subjective but trying to make an informed purchase on some gear can be difficult with reviews that are similar to that generator.
