They aren't bad people. They are mostly quiet, keep to themselves but they just don't fit in to our narrow approval window for neighbours. They don't shovel in the winter, they put in zero effort to maintaining their yard and have never been welcoming or friendly towards us.

An incident in June where they cut down branches from our tree that was hanging on their side of the fence (they can cut as much as they want, that's fine) turned sour when he unceremoniously threw the branches back over our fence and had a "so, what?" attitude about it when I asked him. He may have been in the right but it just felt wrong to us.

Their replacements could be worse but at least we'll introduce ourselves to them and say "welcome" to their new home.

Assholes? We have a neighbour that we'd love to see leave.

We opted to skip the second intermission flood and it didn't do us any favors. They were a fast team so it didn't do them favors either. You're right, the ice was pretty rough by the end but at least we could smile about it...I think we were saying "Fuck the Pencils" even though they were playing in an arena elsewhere in the city. A team photo where we don't smile would be a downer.

That ice looks carved up in a bad way. But boy oh boy does that look like a happy team, despite the loss.

    Politician vs Project Manager.

Also, I'm sure he's super happy to see you.

Jenna accuses me of having a pretty obvious 'fake smile', and I think I could take a lesson from Dad on how to do an impromptu genuine smile. But, Dad does have a lot to be smiling about the last few days.

    That's a big healthy smile.

It's true, a blog post is required and I will get to one in the near future. In short: the truck is pretty comfortable, the bucket seats are nice. It was a leisurely drive to LLB and once I had cruise control set I didn't feel any discomfort. The Jetta had some pretty awesome features for a 2006 car that the 2010 truck doesn't have but I think I can learn to live without them.

And how is it for comfort? I haven't seen a blog post in an age, but I'd expect with a life change like this we should be seeing some thoughts hit the page.

Retiring the Jetta. I have been thinking about a truck for a few years but on the way back from camping in Jasper Jenna agreed it may be a good idea to get a truck and she could upgrade her car after. I immediately kicked in to 'high action, fully commit and become obsessed' mode and looked to make something happen. The Jetta is coming up to 8 years old and there is an increasing list of home chores that require a truck so it makes sense. I will miss the fuel economy but not having to borrow a truck for a Home Depot run would be nice.
