We hiked down to Riomaggiore (from Santuario di Nostra Signora di Montenero) and were beat. With the day heating up and our energy waning we decided to train from town #1 (Riomaggiore) to #3 (Corniglia) and hike from there to Vernazza.
Also, the easier and more beautiful coastal part of the hike from Riomaggiore to Corniglia is washed out so we avoided the longer and slower inland part of the hike.
