Very little relaxing was had this weekend because our fireplace hearth took a complete 180. The peel and stick tiles against the grey paint on the front didn't look right. The tiles were pulled off and we decided to paint the porcelain tiles instead. Two trips to the hardware store (one for epoxy paint that was to match the peel and stick tiles and another trip for primer and floor tile paint). The hearth should match the far "feature wall" but if not it will "sort of" match and not be as showy as the previous plans we had. After three coats of paint are applied I will apply polyurethane to prevent damage to the area.
