Fully Charged - We are always in need of AA batteries so Jenna bought a large pack from Costco. These worked out to less than $0.50 a battery and will last us for a long time.

Sure, I could have a few always in the charger but that's not good for their life, right? So when we want to play Wii once every few months if I have a rechargeable battery in there it's probably dead and there isn't a spare to be had so we grab fresh single use ones and move on.
I have rechargeable batteries in my mouse and one of my Xbox controllers, and that works well for me so I'm not sure what my hold up in the Wii example is. Or maybe I find devices that aren't frequently used that use rechargeable batteries isn't a good fit for me.
