Self Inflicted Pain - I decided to go from the stock version of Ice Cream Sandwich from TELUS to CM9. Several attempts resulted in me making it to the loading screen but never getting beyond it. After an hour of troubleshooting I got it sorted out and had a functioning phone.

Android is the ONLY operating system where I've NEVER had a custom ROM/OS load properly the first time.

It's true, something always happens or goes wrong. I don't know why I think I can do it in a single week night because it's nearly impossible.

The problem this time is that the Clockwork Recovery erase/install ROM option didn't clear enough data to work properly so I had to do a DarkSide Super Wipe and then it worked.

Other weird things are SuperUser installations failing, but if you try it again it works. Because of this you can never be sure if something isn't working the first time because it's stubborn or if you royally screwed up.
