Downed DC-3 - On Nov 24, 1973, a DC-3 ran out of fuel and crashed on the black beaches of Sólheimasandur. This isn't a marked tourist attraction as we followed GPS coordinates to get here, but it was one of the things I wanted to see on this trip and was a definitie highlight for me.
