    I want to commend your organizational skills there... But seriously, it only really matters at the ends.

    This is true, but I wanted to keep track of which cable throughout the run so I could know which one I could pull on if I needed to get more slack or tighten up the cable somewhere.

    Plus, it's permanent marker so it'll be there forever and the next people that live in the house will wonder what the random "R" and "L" throughout the basement mean.
