Prior to the bathroom renovation the previous vent cover didn't stay in place so it was held in with adhesives and small finishing nails. The new cover doesn't stay in place either but a more elegant solution is strips of magnets to keep the cover in place. It seems like a good fit and another small improvement in a space where there were plenty of oddities and annoyances.
