This is fine. My 2018 MacBook Pro screen started to do some unusual things today. In addition to a vertical band of discolouration there are random horizontal streaks that jump around. Between this and some faulty keys on the keyboard it may be time for an upgrade when new models are announced in a few months...assuming this machine lasts that long.
